Banff

I have been in Canada all week at an incredible photography workshop (longer post with details to come!) and we had a chance to explore the area today before going home. It snowed one minute and was sunny the next – and we loved the adventure. We saw a couple of glaciers + found a few lakes that weren’t frozen. So sad to leave this beautiful place but I cannot wait to hug my babies tomorrow. <3

Milky Way

We just got home from a half week at Lake Powell and it was so nice to be unplugged for a few days in the middle of busy season! A couple of nights while we were there, I got up around 3am to take some Milky Way shots (combined with the meteor shower) and I am loving how they turned out! My 12 year old loved keeping me company while I took these. I have never tried photographing the stars before this but I think I am hooked! It was worth the missed sleep. ;)

Happy 4th of July

She loved running around the Salt Flats with this Old Navy Scarf. We spent yesterday morning painting our toenails to match – red, white, and blue stripes (with glitter on top of course!). Happy 4th! <3

The View

My friend Sally has been in town for the past few days and I took her to one of my very favorite spots last night. When we got there, a huge storm was blowing by. Luckily, it wasn’t on us but it was amazing to watch. Originally we were hoping for some great reflections but the wind had other plans. ;) I love how versatile the Great Salt Lake is and I am never, ever disappointed. And her hair? Kills me every time. <3

My girl + Salt Flats

Last night I went to the Salt Flats with a few other photographer friends and my sweet girl modeled for us. She pretty much rocked it and I have to say that I have trained her pretty well haha. ;)

Different looks, favorite location

One of my very favorite things about the Great Salt Lake is the variety of locations. Whether I go to Saltair or Antelope Island, the look changes depending on the time of year. I always take my kids with me to scout new locations and it gives me an excuse to get new photos of them too. Here are a few locations out there that I have been loving lately!

Sunshine

I am basically over the winter weather right now. When the forecast said we were going to have some sunshine on Thursday, I decided to take advantage of it! I wanted to create some images with my daughter that didn’t show how cold it was haha. So we headed out to one of my favorite spots on the lake and these are just a few images from that evening. It couldn’t have been more beautiful and I have so many more to share! <3
